Frog Jumping Country

My sister and I took a Sunday drive to visit a friend who lives in Angels Camp, where they hold the annual famous "Calaveras County Frog Jumping Contest" which Mark Twain wrote about. The countryside is so beautiful especially during this time of the year. Everything is green and all the wild flowers are in bloom.
On the way we stopped in the small town of Copperopolis. The founders of this town were very thoughtful of its new construction giving it that old town feel. The large building below is there Town Hall, it reminds me of the Town Hall in the movie Back to the Future.

All the shops are very quaint. This coffee shop has a fireplace outside.....I would love to visit it at night. Coffee by the fireplace with friends...that's my idea of the good life.

After lunch at Pannini's in Copperopolis, we stopped in the small country town of Murphy's. We had coffee and dessert in the old Salon at Murphy's Hotel. There Bread Pudding is out of this world.....Yummmmm!

The town loves the luck of the Irish and even have Shamrocks painted on the street. Murphy's Taxi Cab.

At the end of town there was a cute donkey. I stopped to take his photo and he just started making all kinds of noise..... may be he was mad that we didn't save him any dessert? We had so much fun in Copperopolis and Murphy's, we didn't have time to stop and visit any of the shops in Angels Camp. Well maybe next time.... the Frog Jumping Contest is coming up soon!
I think a lot of other people had the same idea of a Sunday drive as us. We saw a ton of great classic cars.
